Ohio Rocks!

This large glacial erratic is indicative of the past presence of continental ice sheets in southern Ohio as recently as 19,000 years ago. Glenn Storrs, Withrow Farny Curator of Vertebrate Paleontology at Cincinnati Museum Center  was recently featured in CET - Cincinnati Public Television’s “Ohio Rocks!” series, a four-part educational program on Ohio’s geology and paleontology, and the winner of a 2008 bronze “Telly” award. The project was a joint venture between CET, Cincinnati Museum Center, and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Geological Survey.  In the “Ice Age” program Glenn discusses the Pleistocene  megafauna of the region- think mammoths and mastodon!
